At Cranfield Alpacas, we currently offer 3 main experiences to fit the needs of everyone – from parents & younger children, extended family groups, groups of friends, couples and independent travellers looking for a unique day out that’s fun and boosts your wellbeing.

Beach Trek
Meet your friendly alpaca and take them for a leisurely stroll down country lanes, stopping off for a nibble as they go and enjoying the stunning views as you head down to our beautiful, golden beach. Our Alpacas absolutely adore being walked on the beach. Join them for some fun in the sand, a seaweed snack or two. Feel the stresses and strains melt away, getting to know them, stroking their soft lustrous fleece, listening to the birdsong and the waves lapping on the seashore. Have an experience unlike any other, which will leave you feeling refreshed and relaxed – a perfect wellbeing boost to beat those winter blues.
The beach trek lasts approx. 90 minutes and includes refreshments. This experience is not suitable for young children aged 6 years and under. We would recommend the field trek for them. Children between 7 and 11 years old can accompany an adult as the lead walker. Children aged 12 years and over can lead their own alpaca but must be accompanied by an adult. No pets please. Please arrive 10 minutes before your beach trek is due to begin and bring clothing/ footwear suitable for our ever changeable weather.

Field Walk
Our 60 minute Alpaca field walks are absolutely perfect for families with children of all ages. Take one of our gorgeous Alpacas for a walk around the paddocks and field with stunning views of the Mourne Mountains and Carlingford Lough. Spending time with our cute and cuddly alpacas, surrounded by the sounds of nature, just soothes those stresses and strains away, makes you smile and lifts your spirit – the perfect tonic to banish those winter blues. After working up an appetite, our Alpacas love to be hand fed by you and your family, and you can enjoy our picnic tables. Perfect for younger children or for Grandparents who want to take their Grandchildren for a stroll with our boys. No pets please. Please remember to wear waterproof footwear and suitable clothing for our ever changeable weather.

Alpaca Adventure Trail
Meet, greet and feed our charming Alpacas surrounded by the delightful sounds of nature. Our alpaca adventure trail experience lets you get up close to our family of Alpacas in a relaxed setting, at your pace way. Which Alpaca will be your favourite? The perfect experience for families and those with special needs, mobility issues or to drag the kids away from their mobile phones. This is a great introductory session for getting to know these cute creatures. A fun experience set in stunning landscape – the perfect tonic for the whole family, even teenagers love this – the perfect Instagram post! This experience lasts approx. 45 minutes. No pets please. Please remember to wear appropriate clothing & footwear for outdoors.

Private Alpaca Trekking Experience
Groups up to 6 guests with 6 alpacas who would like a private alpaca trekking experience, to get up close and personal with one of our cute and cuddly alpacas, includes refreshments and a special gift to treasure.
